Today officially starts the political season, and by all accounts it will be very intense to say the least. I have found it very difficult to discuss anything even remotely political with friends and co-workers due to the fact that everyone has very intense feelings and there’s no sense in creating hard feelings. The challenges and issues facing all of us are very real, and the opinions of how best to solve them are as wide ranging as one could imagine.
The Pols (politicians) all want us to believe that their positions on these issues and party identity is what will cure our calamities. One must be very cautious when analyzing today’s Pol simply because their track record stinks. One problem may be that we hold them to a standard that on the face of it seems reasonable but the reality is they are no different than you or I and with their propensity to fall victim of temptation and veer off course this inevitably leads to public humiliation. The public is left reeling in frustration and regret, often times apathy.
This year the key words seems to be Hope and Change, well I for one could use a lot of that, although deciding which Pol and party best meets that goal is a whole other discussion that will play out this season. Stay tuned………
