American Ingenuity

January 16, 2009

There is an abundance of negative news reported everyday about the state of the U.S. economy and in particular, the decline of the U.S. ethanol industry. The research, development an implementation of large scale commercial, cellulosic ethanol cannot get here fast enough. Just think of the possibilities if we are able to produce billions of gallons of our ethanol from the likes of perennial plants, Switchgrass, and corn cobs grown right here in the U.S.

One policy that would help the economy and help develop cellulosic ethanol to its full potential, would be a total commitment by the “Big Three” automakers, that just received a federally funded bailout from us, to increase production of Flex-Fuel vehicles that can run on U.S. power an ingenuity.

We need to make a stand now, while gas is affordable and make one final push to become energy independent before the next oil crisis hits.

Poet Energy, and all the other Ethanol producers should be recognized for their continued hard work to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and to work towards a solution, cellulosic ethanol.
